Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Pork Chops
- Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Rub the seasoning mix evenly over both sides of each pork chop.
Step 2: Sear the Chops
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the pork chops and sear for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Step 3: Caramelize with Brown Sugar
- Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet.
- Sprinkle any remaining brown sugar seasoning over the chops and let it melt, creating a caramelized glaze (about 3–5 minutes).
- Carefully turn the chops to coat both sides with the glaze.
Step 4: Optional – Deglaze the Pan
- For extra flavor and sauce, pour in chicken broth and scrape the browned bits from the pan.
- Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Step 5: Rest and Serve
- Remove chops from skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes.
- Spoon the glaze/sauce from the pan over the chops.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
